Leicester Blue Sox held their annual general meeting Sunday 12 November and this was followed by the new committee's first meeting on Sunday 3 December.
The main areas to update our membership about following these meetings, are as follows.
Our operations committee was re-elected at the AGM.

Performance committee changes
Our performance committee normally gets finalised before pre-season, but there have already been some changes made.
Firstly, we welcome Ron Mason as our new adult first team manager. Congratulations to Ron on this appointment, we are sure you will make the role a great success.
We also welcome Blue Sox veteran Brett Melville back to the club's committee. He is looking to assist with adult coaching on our usual Wednesday evening slot next season.
Last season's skipper Alan Edgington will continue as an adult team player, but will also support the Little Sox u8 coaching.
Steve Rollins will lead the coaching for the Blue Sox Juniors u15 programme. There will no longer be training on Thursday evenings for this age group and from next season, all training will be on Sunday afternoons 1.30pm-3.30pm. All regular season games for the u15's will be on occasional Saturday's as we will be enrolling the team into the BBF Youth Super League.
Matt Crawshaw will continue to coach both the Little Sox u8 and u11 programmes. The tee-ball programme will continue on Sundays at the usual 12.30pm slot.
The scale of our u11 programme will expanding. Core training will continue on Sunday's at 1.30pm, but there will also been an extra hour of advanced training which will follow at 2.30pm. The u11's will also be joining the BBF Youth Super League, with regular season games on occasional Saturday's. Those u11 players who are selected for this travel team, will be expected to regularly attend both the core and advanced training sessions on Sunday's.
At our committee meeting, Matt ran through the club's financial position which remains pretty stable despite a drop in income due to lack of sponsors and the collapse of our softball programme.
Membership fees for the 2018 season will be as follows:
Adult baseball £130 (£10 discount if paid in full by end of March)
Juniors u15 £60
Little Sox u11 £40 (increased due to rising costs of programme)
Little Sox u8 £20
Code of Conduct
The club will be publishing an updated code of conduct early in the new year.
In addition to this, there will be supplementary charters for youth coaches, youth players and parents.
Due to changes in BaseballSoftballUK safeguarding requirements, there will be a need for parent permission forms/registration to be completed in hard copy every season. We can no longer roll forward from a previous season. The new forms will incorporate the new codes of conduct and charters.
Adult registration can continue online and is expected to open by 15 January 2018.
Broken Bat Policy
Stay tuned for a club announcement in relation to the use of wooden bats in the adult programme. There have been far too many instances of broken bats in recent seasons and we will be introducing a broken bat policy that gives clear guidance on liability if you happen to break a club or teammates' wooden bat.
The full announcement should follow this month.
